Accurate B2-197M in action at Rompin Malaysia

Sailfish feeding close to our boat it almost a hook up when we cast live bait to the sail.

Together with a few friends, I decided to bring the new Accurate B2-197 (2-speed) to fish in Rompin Malaysia as the season is getting hot now for Sailfish...It about 31/2 hours drive from Singapore and Rompin is in the East Coast of Malaysia. We will be fishing Sailfish with live bait and the Accurate B2-197 (2-Speed) was the right reels to use. Line: spectra 30lb, Hook: Decoy light circle 6/0.
2 days fishing we had 21 hooks up and release 16 Sailfish, 1 Black Marlin and other fishes. The Accurate B2-197 low gear come in handy when fighting the stubborn Marlin. We will be back again....

Winter fishing in Japan Part II

Snow cover everwhere on the edge of Tu-Tenko lake..

Chasing trout in Japan...During our trip to Japan fishing show in Osaka this year both Benji and me was in invited by Kozo Okubo to fishing Tu-Tenko lake in Kyoto that was also own by our friend Shinomura san. Shinomura san had fish with me in Rompin fly fishing for Sailfish and already caught a few Sail on fly tackle, so he also want us to try trout fishing if we visit Osaka.

Since it was Benji first trip to Japan Kozo want to let Benji try some trout fishing, Benji have a few hits but just can't land them....but it was a good experience for him. This was my second trip to Tu-Tenko lake, during my last trip I did caught some good size trout in 50++cm. The only different is that this trip was very cold and was snowing hard this is a very special feeling for Benji and me as we came from tropical climate country..

Benji check the tiny spoon for the trout.

Hunt for the Giant Snakehead

Our floating Hilton.....Sleep, Eat, Shower all on board here.

Hunting for the giant snakehead take us all the way to Lake Temenggor ( 15,200 hectaes) . This lake is the largest man-made lake in Perak Malaysia.. Together with some good friends, we take a slow drive (about 10hrs) from Singapore to the northern part of Malaysia. Our target fish is the Giant snakehead (local name Tomam) and also Jungle Perch (local name Sebarau). The Snakehead will take surface lures like popper, stick bait and prop lure. This way of fishing for the snakehead is the most fun as you draw a lot of surface strike from the snakehead. Jungle perch or Sebarau will take deep diver and small popper. The bigger Sebarau will hit bigger lure some time while you are targetting snakehead............
